Emma Jean Foster-Fiege
Dear Friends - Emma Jean Foster will no longer be performing
with the CHC. She has decided to pursue a solo career. Though her talents
shall be greatly missed, we wish her the very best of luck in all of her
musical endeavors.
Emma Jean was born in Seattle, Washington to the parents of Gospel singing musicians. Her father founded The South Wind Gospel Quintet Singers and her mother was the church pianist at Zion United House Of Prayer For All Nations Pentecostal Church where Emma Jean began singing gospel and spiritual as a toddler. Emma Jean is blessed with the God given talent to move the listener to tears. Emma Jean is regarded as one of Gospel's most powerful vocalist. She has appeared numerous times at major ball park stadiums singing The National Anthem.
As a teen-ager Emma Jean and her younger sister Anita, known as "The Brown Sisters" sang gospel and spirituals at numerous schools, churches and special events including sharing the stage with the legendary Shirley Caesar, Andre Crouch and the Disciples and many others.
After moving to California Emma Jean began singing in night clubs and touring the US and Canada with a couple of local bands, Herman Jones and the X-Citers and a 13 piece top 40 band called Cohesion. Emma has since worked with well known producers Narada Michael Walden, Todd Rundgren, Harvey Fuqua and Linda Joyce Tillery.Emma Jean is a featured vocalist with the Glide Memorial United Methodist Church Ensemble and also serves as Choir Director at Rising Hope Methodist Church in Alameda California.
Emma Jean is also a songwriter and producer of two self titled CD's and has recently started her own band called Emma Jean which delivers a unique combination of Gospel and Blues and has frequently performed with The Holmes Brothers and Eric Bibb as a featured guest artist.
