has
been regarded as one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most powerful vocalists
since the late 1960's. Singing her way from a 19-year-old pop singer in
The Loading Zone to the queen mother of the women's music circuit, Linda
has metamorphosed into the diva of the African Diaspora in song. Her shimmering
alto has been showcased in the Zazu Pitts Memorial Orchestra, Bobby McFerrin's
Voicestra, and has appeared in over 50 recordings by diverse artists
such as Santana, Boz Skaggs, Kenny Loggins, Sheila E., Holly Near, John Santos,
and the Turtle Island String Quartet.
Through
unique performing/teaching collaborations with other artists, Linda has shared
her talents with film maker Marion Riggs, videographer Kerrigan Black, and Pacifica
Radio's award-winning program A Burst of Light, A Tribute To Audre Lorde.
An articulate and provocative speaker, Linda has given lecture- demonstrations
for the Christian Studies Spirituality Conference in Toronto, The
New Spirituals Project in Oakland and Cincinatti, Santa Clara University,
and St. Mary's College.
